Demographics drive demand for skilled workers
No fewer than three professions from this occupational area are among the top 10. The placement of healthcare and nursing professions at the top of all work areas is almost a given. This is where demographic development in Germany is most strongly felt. In this context, home care workers are coming into focus, appearing among the top ten places for the first time (8th place).
The shortage of educators has led to the strong increase in the hospitality and service work area. For the third year running, the profession is represented above average in the sample and takes fourth place in the overall ranking (2025: 11). In the hospitality sector, employers need only service employees somewhat more frequently than before. The striking decline in sales is due exclusively to offers for retail salespeople. However, it mainly offsets the above-average demand of last year.
In the area of personal care and cleaning, job seekers interested in room cleaning in particular will easily find opportunities. The occupation currently ranks 12th in the overall ranking (2025: 21).
