Engineers are back
For the first time since 2022, the occupational area reached the 20 percent mark again. There were gains in particular among the engineering and IT professions.
In engineering, the architecture specialization shares eleventh place with software development. The IT professions, too, have recovered comparatively well from their low last year, but are still below their long-term average. Employers may be somewhat cautious about hiring, partly because they are postponing large IT projects.
The system controlling and automation area did not maintain its peak from the previous year. However, its share of the occupational area and the overall sample is significantly higher than before 2025. The decisive factor is the demand for machine and system operators. They are once again among the top 10 professions.
The technician professions are somewhat less strongly represented, although job offers for service technicians once again exceeded their peak from last year. They are now in 15th place. Electrical and measurement engineering is the second most sought-after technician discipline. In the overall ranking, it is seven places ahead of its position last year (33rd place).
